Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I wear to the Wedding?

Our wedding is formal, so feel free to dress up! Think “polished” but not quite black-tie. Floor-length gowns, chic midi dresses, or dressy jumpsuits are all beautiful choices for feminine looks. Darker-colored suits are preferred (ties and bowties optional), but anything from a full tux to dress pants & a blazer are also perfectly fine!

And don’t be afraid to add some seasonal “spring” flair! Florals, spring colors, and flowing fabrics are all welcome—just no white, of course! The bridesmaids will be wearing sage green, so feel free to complement or contrast as you like.

  • What should I wear to the Welcome Party?

The Welcome Party is cocktail attire—dressy but comfortable! Think dresses, jumpsuits, suits, or blazers (no ties required). Since it’s on an enclosed terrace, you won’t need to worry about the weather—it’s basically indoors. Soft spring colors and pastels are perfect, and men can opt for lighter suit jackets if they’d like, we just ask that you avoid entirely white outfits (as is the case for all wedding-related events)!

  • Can I bring my kids to the Wedding or Rehearsal Dinner?

Our wedding will be an adults-only celebration (same with the Rehearsal Dinner), but we’d love to see your little ones at the Welcome Party! For parents attending the wedding, we’ve arranged for a bus to leave around 8:30 PM to help you get back to your families earlier if needed. We hope this allows you to relax and enjoy the evening with us!

  • Is the Wedding inside or outside?

The main ceremony will be outdoors, but it will be fairly short and on astroturf (so soggy ground & heels shouldn’t be an issue). The cocktail party will be on a brick patio and flow into the main house, and the reception will be indoors with an outdoor terrace if you’d like some fresh air!

  • Is there transportation to/from the Wedding?

Absolutely! We’re providing more than enough transportation for everyone both to and from the wedding venue. The busses leave from (and return to) The Mayton Hotel, but everyon’s welcome to ride, even if you’re not staying there!

If you’re local or staying at an AirBnB, you can park in the Downtown Cary parking deck and take a quick 3-minute walk across the park to the hotel.

Meet us in the lobby of The Mayton (301 S Academy St, Cary, NC) no later than 3:00 PM – the buses roll out at 3:15 PM sharp, and WILL NOT WAIT for you, so please arrive early! You can also grab a drink at the Peck & Plume Bar right next to the Lobby, so getting there early should even be a treat!

For the ride back, buses will leave the reception at 8:30 PM, 9:30 PM, and at the end of the reception (around 10:30pm). There will also be a party bus making trips between The Mayton and Woody’s where we’ll have our afterparty!

  • Can I drive myself to the Wedding? Is there parking?

Yes, and yes! You’re welcome to drive yourself, but if you’re planning to enjoy a drink (or two), we really recommend hopping on the shuttle instead. We want everyone to stay safe and enjoy the night with us! If you REALLY need to leave your car, you can, but it MUST be picked up by 10am the next morning or it WILL be towed!

However, if you’re planning on not drinking (at all), then there is absolutely parking available at the venue! The address is 5733 Hilltop Rd, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

  • Is there transportation to the After Party?

There absolutely is! There will be a party bus heading from the venue straight to the afterparty at Woody’s, but since it’s fairly small this list is invite-only (ask Caroline if you’re unsure). HOWEVER, we still have free transportation to get everyone else to the Afterparty too! The main busses will be heading back to the Mayton, and after dropping off the first round of guests the Party Bus will also head there (less than 5min away) to pick up anyone else who wants to head to the after party! So just take one of the big busses back to the hotel, then wait out front for the Party Bus to come get you! This bus will also be making trips between Woody’s and The Mayton until 2am, so everyone should have a safe & free ride back to the hotel.
